SFX Builder

Create self-extracting executables with full branding, license agreements, custom icons, silent mode, and built-in preview.

Configuration

The SFX Builder wraps your archive into a standalone Windows executable. Configure: window title, company name, default extraction directory (supports %TEMP% and %NAME% tokens), silent mode, overwrite behaviour, UAC elevation requirement, completion dialog, and post-extract launch command.

Branding

Embed a custom .ico icon and version information in the SFX executable. Add a banner image (.png/.jpg/.bmp) displayed during extraction. Configure gradient theme colours for the extraction UI to match your brand.

License Agreement

Add a license agreement (EULA) dialog that must be accepted before extraction begins. Paste your license text and optionally require the user to check an “I accept” box. Ideal for software distribution where license acceptance is mandatory.

Preview

The built-in SFX preview shows exactly what the end user will see: the extraction dialog with your title, branding, icon, and license text. Test the complete user experience before building the final executable.

Building

Click Build to generate the self-extracting EXE. The entire ZIP archive is appended to a lightweight extraction stub. The resulting file can be distributed and run on any Windows machine. From the CLI: BrutalZip.exe --sfx archive.zip.
